What You Can Do

Confront the nursing home

Many family members are concerned that if they make a complaint and their relative is still in the nursing home, the facility may retaliate against the relative. These concerns should be expressed to the licensing agency who will describe their procedures to safeguard, to the extent possible, your family member.

Move your family member to another facility, if necessary, to safeguard his or her welfare.
